NTT DOCOMO’s New FCNT Smartphone with Qnovo Software Delivers the Longest Battery Life in arrows Devices History
We are excited to announce our new integration with NTT DOCOMO, Japan's largest telecommunications company serving over 73 million customers. On February 6, 2023, NTT DOCOMO announced its latest arrows N F-51C smartphone, an environmentally friendly 5G smartphone within the "arrows" brand of devices. The FCNT (formerly Fujitsu Connected Technologies Limited) arrows N F-51C smartphone comes equipped with intelligent battery management software from Qnovo, delivering the longest battery life in arrows history!
“We are delighted to launch the arrows N F-51C with Qnovo technology,” said Takeshi Higuchi, General Manager of the Communication Device Development Department of NTT DOCOMO.“ This technology can minimize battery degradation during charging and extend battery life. DOCOMO will continue to bring cutting-edge technologies to customers, aiming to achieve a safe and sustainable society and a more comfortable mobile environment.”
Managing the health and lifespan of lithium-ion batteries has been a significant challenge for smartphone owner sand EV fleet operators alike. Qnovo's battery management software with edge compute-enhanced cloud can monitor the status and health of all batteries remotely without violating user privacy. In the case of EV fleets, both managers and drivers benefit from SpectralX© Fleet Services with advanced real-time and predictive measurements of battery range, health, lifespan and performance.
“The majority of consumer devices on the market today reach their end-of-life prematurely, when there is a better way, ”said Nadim Maluf, CEO and Co-Founder of Qnovo. “Qnovo’s intelligent software increases battery health and safety while reducing the environmental impact of not just consumer electronics, but electric vehicles (EVs) and fleets, enabling a longer life and exceptional performance. We’re delighted to bring Qnovo’s software to NTT DOCOMO — no other Android phone provides the same longevity and visibility of battery health to both customers and providers.”
“The positive environmental impacts of this development are substantial,” said Vanessa Forbes, Vice President of Sustainability and Marketing. “There’s global concern around sourcing of raw materials for lithium-ion batteries and lack of mature recycling systems. By increasing battery life, we keep batteries out of landfills for longer, reducing demand for the raw material resources used like lithium, cobalt and nickel, which ultimately reduces carbon emissions. For example, extending EV battery longevity by even one year with our technology eliminates the need to build 9M new batteries by 2023, thus saving 64M MT of CO2 cumulatively by 2030.”
The FCNT arrows N F-51C smartphone is available for purchase from Friday, February 10, 2023 in Japan directly from NTT DOCOMO.
